EVEN MORE SNOW

Snow seems to be a running theme this winter. I was thinking late last year how I had seen far more snow as a child than I have in recent times, so it’s nice to finally get some. I spoke to Nora on the phone and she said that alot of the snow in Berlin had begun to melt. She was saying how she hadn’t seen so much dogshit on the streets in here life. She said it smells rank . Dog shit is a massive problem in Berlin. People don’t want to pick it up. I wouldn’t want to pick it up either. It’s dogshit! I need to not get started on dogshit…
Anyways more snow. Last day in studio. I am out here because I wrote 2 more songs way past the 12th hour. I am swapping them out with two on the record. The two in question were incongruous with the rest of the album. The 2 new songs are called “Shadow Boxing” and “Anything”. I have one more vocal to do. Wish me luck.

Here on the east coast of the US, we broke records with the amount of snow we got this year, and its snowing right now… its also the law to pick up after your dogs here…

In Helsinki we’re 20 cm off the official snow record, which was well before I was born. I don’t remember ever seeing as much snow as this year. And the great dogshit debate is waiting for the melting snow, even though there’s a low of cleaning after your dog. I kind of understand that people don’t bother digging for shit in half a meter of snow.
Am I too late to wish you luck? Good luck anyway. Last year I laughed as my friend who, on her birthday of all days, trod dogshite all over her new carpet. She scolded me and wished it back on me. Next day was my own birthday and, you guessed it. She found it hilarious, I did not. I bet it was the same damn dog.

Last year I was bitching about not seeing snow and this year, where I live (Philadelphia area) got more snow in two months than the past five winters and it’s snowing again! So you’re not alone.
And, no one wants to pick up dog shit, especially when it’s not your own dog’s. That’s just rude for people not to pick it up.

Our two feet of snow has just about melted away and my husband said to me this morning, “There’s got to be a LOT of dog shit at the end of the path I dug for the dogs.” Thank God that’s HIS job! ; )
