Dulce de Leche in Mexico is Cajeta, but don’t ever say that in southamerica or you will get yourself into trouble haha

  3. Melinda says:

Ooooh, how could you?! I’m busting my butt at the gym with a personal trainer to loose weight and trying to be healthy. I am now drooling on the keyboard.

    !!!

  4. Noel Kang says:

Awww, poor you!!! I must confess I laughed out loud with this blog entry, though. You reminded me of myself. The other day I googled images of “dark chocolate” and “chocolate + dulce de leche”. Excellent stuff, but I always end up having a craving, which this time led to me having an alfajor at Havanna on Tuesday when I met there with a friend… I’ve no will power when it comes to sweets. I’m the kind of person who can’t go through life without them, so I could never even last a day on detox. You should be very proud of yourself!! Be strong, you can do it!!

why did you have to do that? now so many people are suffering along with you…. i am off to paris on friday and the best place for cakes in the world is there – Laduree on Rue Bonaparte – you buy some yummy cake and go have it by the river- it is one of those moments where you feel utterly happy : )

  8. sammy says:

    Stop it!

**I just tried to submit the above “stop it!” and a message came up saying my comment was too short! Now that’s a first for me, blah blah blah……
Keep going Fran! Stop googling cakes. (but if you find a coffee and walnut one, or battenburg, I’d love to see them)xx

  9. Sara says:

Hahahahaha…..OOooooooooooooooh, Franni ! πŸ˜€ Haha.. I feel sorry for you! Even though if it was YOUR decision not to eat them.. πŸ™‚ It will become very hard weeks, but you can do it!! Don`t disappoint us, okay? πŸ˜‰ *Viel GlΓΌck!* πŸ™‚

    Sadist. (aaand, alright, masochist)

  11. kerry says:

What is dulce de leche? It looks like cloudy honey, but there’s a picture of a cow on the jar, and even I know honey doesn’t come from cows!

  12. Noel Kang says:

Go Mr.Franny…!!Gooooo!! You can do it~!!:D

  13. Meridith says:

Oh man. You can do it Fran! A few years ago I cut out sweets and junk food. I didn’t do a detox, but after cutting that stuff out, my body got used to not having it and I felt so much better. I even got to the point that if I tried a little bit of that stuff, it made me feel ill and the desire to eat it was completely gone. Good luck!

  14. Fatalka says:

One may find pleasure in torturing themselves, as we can all see…
Is this something you said ultimate goodbye to or are you planning to devour on this once you’re finished with your draconian regime?
Fran, it’s weird. I’ll never understand: why did you go on that detox in a first place? I guess this is yet another thing you wanted to try to see how it feels πŸ™‚
Instead of drinking those delicious cocktails: 1)Eat porridge (you can make it yummy, believe me) every morning 2)Exercise (I know you do…). 3)Make love. 4)Sleep. And you shall live a thousand. The rest – das ist alles ganz egal πŸ˜‰
FH “I’m doing the detox to reset my gut as the gut is where all the toxins are trapped and where for instance serotonin is made…”

  18. Fran says:

Dulce de Leche is from argentina (at least how it’s widely known) it’s basically milk ‘n’ sugar but like a creamy jelly…..or something…

  19. Luke says:

    Fran you’re hilarious.

  20. James Butler says:

    Hey Fran

I joined you on the 7 day detox. Just not as crazy as I can’t afford fancy shakes etc. But yes cut out wheat and meat and sugars and dairy products so was pretty much down to Tofu, Fruit, veg and oats. I lost 9 pounds from 13 stone. Not bad ey. Did spend most of the week on the toilet though, don’t know how you coped traveling. Anyway, the first taste of buttery toast last night was amazing.

    ciao fo now
