Oh that’s brilliant. So morbid yet merry at the same time. This is definitely worth the veggie diet.
Two weeks before thesis has to be submitted and Im sat here listening to this on repeat. But its a calming distraction, thanks
Mr.Paul And Mr.Franny!!!!
Love It~!!! *YAY*
utterly wonderful -it just keeps playing in my head – thank you : )
realy like this Fran, thanks for sharing before the release date. Macca’s bass is brilliant, it must have been a buzz when you received his bass take. Roll on October 4th
just pureeeee amazing!!!
Oh, this sounds fantastic!
I love it!!!
great song!
fantastic! it sounds like it could last a lil bit longer!
“and if we had a little money”
Anyone else hearing the Abba jingle.
FH ” WOW… I see that but unintentional… still, well spotted. You should be a musicologist”
‘As it comes’ is completely different from everything I’d thought… You surprised me and that’s exciting! Congrats to you and Paul …
By the way, next time, say hello to Paul and tell him I love him so much …
OK,forget about it … hahaha
2 questions:
1- Have you really kept your promise to be veggie? :p
2- Why didn’t you ask Ringo Starr to play drums? hahaha * He himself(or not) did this question . Check – http://music-mix.ew.com/2010/08/30/paul-mccartney-fran-healy-travis-song-as-it-come/
FH says “1) Yes… Here have a carrot. 2) Ringo is ungettable. You would have thought he would be the easiest but after Thomas The Tank Engine, he kind of went into another level of fame”
i don’t know..guess i might take a little longer to like it.
I LOVE the da da da da dum at the end there! A magical song from two of my favourite people. xx
a truly amazing song Fran! I love your ‘deeper’ voice
grrrr I don’t know why my PC won’t let me into any of these links – It happened before when Buttercups went up. I just get a blank white box where the link is supposed to be. What am I doing wrong????
Wow,I really thought it was gonna be like In My Perfect Heaven Space or Sarah. It’s quite different. But I love the deepness.Well done!
It’s sooooooo fantastic! I’m so sorry that my English can’t express my feelings fully! So attractive..!!!!
Whew!
*I’m amazed*… *miaaaaow*… Hehehehe..;-) Much more erotism in the voice.. huuuuuhuhuhhu.. Love this song! Will hear it for the rest of the day on repeat..and will SING it tomorrow the whole day long..(ear worm)..
Dear Fran, will you post the lyrics to “As It Comes” somewhere here? I’m absolutely charmed with this song, it’s like a spell or something. It’s perfect and I could listen to it over and over again (yeah, I probably said the same thing about “Buttercups”, but well… Your album is just freakin’ awesome.) Maybe I should leave some of the lines undefined, with a few meanings, sometimes it makes the song keep its magic for longer, but I simply couldn’t resist asking you for the lyrics in this case.
Thank you for sharing your art with us – again!
Wow, brilliant song. I can’t stop listening to it. So different than the acoustic version! With the backing track, it seems to me to take on a fantastic sort of blackly humorous yet sincere tone. And the bass is absolutely perfect; it creates a beautiful counterpoint with the vocals while still reinforcing the rhythm. What bass did Paul play on this track? It sounds to me like his Hofner violin bass.
I can’t wait for October 5th!
P.S. Fraaaaaaaaaan?
The most words I understand.., but I would like to be sure that I don’t hear it wrong like with “stores” and “stares”..
P-L-E-A-S-E MR. HEALY!!!! .. It would be terrific!
Is it ( just if you have time for that enough) possible that you put the lyrics from “as it comes” on your page? Please, please….pleeeeeeeeease!
P.P.S. “stars”! haha
This is as close to perfection as can be.
Always loved this since the Frandy tour.
I love the arrangement.
Could be one of my favourite songs of all time.
Fran, you have pulled it out of the bag, big time.
I’m loving the sounds on this record. You said ‘Holiday’ is the most Travis-like song on it…and ‘As It Comes’, to me, sort of sounds very McCartney-like…I don’t know if it’s because Macca is on it, but the sound reminds me of Macca’s record: Chaos And Creation In The Backyard.
Well done
Great song. One question, your Glaswegian accent seems to come through a lot more on this song compared to your others. I’m guessing this is intentional. Any particular reason for this. Reminds me a bit of Blue Flashing Light where you definitely sound a bit more Scottish.
FH “The original vocal was sung in a cockney accent. I was persuaded by the producer to sing in my own voice. The glasgow accent was unintentional but I think unconciously I felt it needed some distinct accent. The demo version will be available on the deluxe edition in both UK and US and Japan”
Hello, Mr. Healy.
I am Ellen from Shanghai, China. I have listened to this song. It is great! Fantastic!
There are many your fans in Shanghai, believe me!
I wonder whether I can buy your album in CD stores in China. If the answer is yes, I will greatly appreciate it!
FH “I don’t think the album will be available in China… You will be able to order it through this site via the US or the UK I think.“
I think this album will make great success, Mr. Healy.
I saw your answer that this album won’t come out in china.
I’m South Korean. I want to buy this album when it comes out.
Can I buy this album in our country(S Korea) when it comes out?
[I'm learning English and I wish you will understand my grammar/spelling mistake^^~]
FH “Not sure if it will be coming out in South Korea. I will need to ask about this“
Money Money Money – Abba
potential tour cover?
Now, that’s what I’m talking about!
It’s the best one so far imho. The other 2 songs sounded a bit like travis, which might be a good thing for some fans, but I was expecting to hear a new sound mixed with your unique voice. And this one does it. It’s the kind of song one stops doing whatever he’s doing to have a proper listen. Cheers for fran and macca. By the way, luv the lyrics you wrote for brainstorm’s ‘count my fingers’.
FH “Thanks. Renārs is a good friend. That song is out there. Love it and glad you dig As It Comes.”
this one sounds really different, great surprise
I love this. I’ve been playing it over and over again.
I’m so excited : D
So I’ve listened to the song about 15 times and I really like it now. My first impression was ‘ohh this is not what I expected’, I don’t know why. The bass line is really nice, it reminds me of a tango dance, or a waltz. What kind of piano have you used to record the song? Traditional Steinway and Sons? Or an electronic keyboard?
This is music….THANK YOU SO MUCH
Find the typo from the following taken from the EW page: “You can here the result of their collaboration below, and pre-order the single”
Oooh, so different than I was expecting after listening to the acoustic version. I think it is quite an interesting arrangement and I’m quite liking it.
Its nice to hear the Scottish twang in the lyrics. On Fly in the Ointment you sound so American I thought we were losing you there for a while
just don’t start singing any with a German accent or we will need to send the Cavalry!
