That really is plastic fantastic, what a clever invention. For me, the key to making this kind of thing successful is in showing the children. They love machines that miraculously change one thing into another and if they are involved in collecting the plastic to feed the machine, in turn it gives them a sense of achievement and inspiration.
nice invention indeed
hopefully it will give motive to some people and goverments to do something about the Great Pacific Garbage Patch….
I am afraid that the only thing that can make them do something about it is money!
One step closer to having the time machine from Back II the Future 2! I hope this machine doesn’t get blocked by oil companies here in the US, but we have a bit of a poor track record, to put it mildly. Thanks for the link Fran
There’s a very cool band in Japan called “Fantastic Plastic Machine”. Of course when they picked out that name they didn’t realize it was going to become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Very cool stuff! =)
It further re-affirms the fact that the technology is already here to help decrease our impact on the environment. We just have to put it to action.
That is too good to be true. I want one of those.
Great find Fran. Thanks for sharing.

I wonder how much a machine like that would cost?
Wow, that is seriously very cool! Kudos to that man for figuring out a way to make a huge difference and caring enough to educate others.
