    Hello!
Fantastic news that you are headlining our highland shindig “The Tartan Heart Festival” (Belladrum) in August! When they were looking for suggestions for acts after last years “fantastic” festival….we suggested you!! We saw you in the Ironworks in 2008 and had a brilliant night – thanks
So looking forward to seeing you guys in August….think you might just love it too!!! xx

    From India,
I used to follow your blog regularly but kind of lost touch last few months. Starved for new Travis music quite honestly. This post doesn’t really have a point; or maybe it has many.
I wont get into cliches and tell you I’m the biggest fan in the world etc. There are others surely who love you just as much or maybe more. I was listening to ‘Sarah’ last night and it brought back memories. A few years ago when things were going terribly for me, I similarly listened to Sarah. I couldn’t stop the tears then. Only just could yesterday. I felt I needed to let you know again (I have before) what power your music holds.
The first Travis song I heard was ‘Closer’ while playing FIFA 2007 as it was included in the game’s soundtrack. I didn’t really like it. Then I heard it again when a friend gave it to me and I was blown away. Now it is easily in my top 5 of all time. I could list 40 songs in a jiffy and how they changed me. Colder not the least among them.
Awaiting a visit from you to India (to Pune specifically. Bryan Adams recently came by). Or else I will have to make that pilgrimage to a Travis concert. I am in your debt unquestionably. I dont think this has been written in a gush of emotion. This is what I consistently feel for the last 5 years.
Now I realise that there is a point to this post. I will sum it up in two words:
    Thank You.

    FIFA 2008. typo. :)

  6. Ranajeet says:

I don’t know what happened to my previous comment. But I want to thank you for your music. Just want to let you know what power it holds and that i am indebted to you because of it.

I just wrote to my agent and said he should try and get a gig booked in India. I mentioned your city. Travis won’t be touring until next year so we’ll wait and see. Sorry we haven’t been there yet… I would love to come. Thanks for getting in touch best Fran

  9. Ranajeet says:

Will not hide the fact that I am extraordinarily happy that you replied. Feels really good to know you actually take into consideration us fans’ demands. I will attend a Travis concert within a few years I assure you. And then I will thank you properly.
    Thank you again.

Hi dear Fran… I love your songs, I love Travis since 2001 when I heard Sing for the first time when I was only 10 years and I discovered in that time that there is a song for every moment in my life. I think that you’re a great man..a few months ago I bought The invisible Band and 12th memories albums and believe me when I said that in Bogota-Colombia where I came from is so difficult get your music but I hope that pretty soon I can buy all your records and also the singles and others but anyways I want that you’ll come here please..that would make me so happy ..thanks for your fan number one in Colombia. (sorry for my bad English)

  11. Valerie says:

There are moments in life when the only thing you want to do is get in the car and drive aimlessly. In those moment your music is the only one can make me feel good. you are my favorite band ever.. and I love you and thank you. I’m sure when I’ll hear you play live I can say I achieved my dream

  12. franhealy says:

Bogota-Colombia hmmmmm… I will ask our agent to put it on our list of places we want to play. x

  13. Oliver says:

    Dear Mr. Healy,

thank you for your very nice performance in the GretchenClub.
This month I got my Abitur, so I’m out of school now. But in 13 years I havn’t experienced such a nice benefit concert, and I’m glad I could support it.
I like the Travis songs (and music clips!) pretty much, which is why I am very glad about your choice of songs. It is quite an experience to sit on a box, together with my girlfriend, singing along to “Love will come through” or listening to “Closer”.
Apart from this atmosphere it was really nice to listen to your words in between the songs, for example the simile between songwriting and crossword puzzles. I’m also writing and composing songs, probably that’s why I had to absorb it in a way.
I couldn’t ask you directly afterwards, so I do it this way: First- what’s the name or adress of the recording studio you mentionned? Because I’d love to make some demos of my songs that sound better than self-made ones. I would love to send some of these to a label or something, too, which leads to my second question: Can you give me advice how to proceed? Fox example how to find a fitting label (imagining I’m good enough) or how to save the Copyright?

I know it’s a little bit too much demand for a comment. But you seem to be a good contact, since you seemed very trustworthy and helpful.

It would be a pleasure to hear from you. And thank you again!

    Best wishes
    Oliver

PS: In my eyes, “Berlin Bilingual” is the best of the three titles. Great project, too..

Hello Oliver, we had a great night and I was relieved to play the School song and get such a positive response. We are going to make it into a proper 45rpm single in the new school year. Good luck with everything.

  17. Stefan says:

    Hello Fran,

me and my fiancee like your songs very much. I fall with the door into the house: Could you imagine playing on our little wedding in the middle of october? It´s 2 hours from Berlin away, near the nice baltic sea, have you ever been there? Just a question, thanks.

    Stefan

  18. Arturo says:

Hello fran! it´s amazing to hear news from you and the guys. it´s so cool that my favorite all time band TRAVIS is getting together again and gonna make a new album and go out on tour. Can be possible that you come to Monterrey, Mexico?
Another thing, i met you in backstage at your first gig here in 2007 and i can´t believe how wonderful persons you guys are. You were so kind with your fans, but the best thing that ever happened to me was that you take your time to answer my question about: “what´s the second chord you play in SING? Not only you take your time to explain me that is some Am thing without the ring finger, but you also drew me the chords on the back of my already autographed SELFISH JEAN t-shirt. I will never forget those 5 minutes we spend talking about the chord and that i was the only fan left at the backstage meeting talking to you. Thank you for that amazing evening and i hope we see you soon and get the chance to have a drink or two, who knows!
    Cheers!

The travis acoustical journey was awesome, I loved hearing all the stories behind the songs!
We miss you already at Monterrey, so come back soon!

  23. D.J. says:

    Fran!
I had the pleasure of meeting you and Andy in Milwaukee during the semi-recent acoustic tour, but also saw you open for Keane when they came through the area (and honestly, you were the reason we bought tickets). The Turner Ballroom show is, by far, the highlight of my concert going personal history. I just wanted to give you a head’s up that I’m getting married in a shade under a week (20/10/12) and I will be using “My Eyes” as the mother-son dance since it’s a fantastic example of that impartial love and support a parent should have for their child. I know I’ve said it before (which I’m sure you don’t recall since you meet so many people on the road) but your music literally saved my life. I look forward to your next catalog of work and hope you and the rest of the gents are doing well.
    Best wishes,
    D.J.

  31. Omar says:

    Dear Fran.
    Time is running out.
Have you ever thought about Jesus Christ and all the things He said?
Check it out in the gospels.

    God bless you.

  32. franhealy says:

I def have thought about this having been brought up Catholic as a child. I found, however, that Jesus was just one of the many great philosphers throughout history and really, the most important messages he and they deliver are very simple beautiful truths which don’t belong exclusively to any single religion but rather are universal and in a way, pre date religion.
    I’m not religious.
I believe we should try our best to be fair and also find a balance between our animal and our thoughts.
    all the best
    Fran
